I am so sorry for your loss. May the love of your family and friends continue to comfort you at this time. One thing that I have personally found that helps me to cope when I lost a loved one is the promises held out in the Bible such as the one found at John 5:28,29...." Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out...Also at Revelation 21:4 God promises that he is going to eliminate all sickness, sorrow, pain, and death forever. It is my sincere hope that these thoughts bring your family comfort at this difficult time. www.jw.org

Hello Phyllis
I know what an awful feeling that must be for you and your family to have to endure. Please know that God has heard our prayers and concerns. He does know our pain and heartache. He also knows and loves his gift, his child Stephen. I am called to remember that he is that perfect son that every black mother finds joy and comfort in knowing that she has been blessed to raise into a kind, proud, generous and accomplished man. Who has been a role model to his entire family. Let us go forward as God intends knowing that our Dear Stephen is in the best of hands and most loving care. The comfort and joy and peace that he will enjoy far surpasses any fears that we have. He will be and is with God.. Let us instead rejoice and celebrate the privilege to have been touched by Stephen's beautiful soul he has shared with us all. Let us instead be be uplifted and encouraged and thankful for his gift of life. Love you All ❤️😘😘❤️❤️

My fondest memory of Stevie, is going to visit my family when they lived on 103rd. Stevie's Beautiful Smile, his Laugh and Sense of Humor. His presence will be missed. But knowing that his pain and suffering is over, and he is now with his Loved Ones that passed before him, and God has his arms around him gives me comfort in this difficult time. Bless you All.

My condolences to the Brown family. I met Steve as a youth in high school, watched him play basketball at U of C. Steve was always a nice guy proving nice guys inspire younger brothers. God Bless the family.

Dear Dorothy and the Brown Family,
Steve was one of the kindest and most generous people I've ever met. From the first day I met him as a freshman in high school in 1969 to the last day I saw him in July, he lit up the room wherever he went. I will carry that light with me always, as well as all of you in my thoughts and prayers.
