Sandra "Toni" J. Spade

Sandra J. “Toni” Spade, 86, of Corunna, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, October 10, 2025, at Astral at Auburn.

She was born on October 28, 1938, in Auburn, the daughter of the late Ralph D. and Gladys L. (Hewitt) West.

Toni was a proud graduate of Auburn High School and took great pride in being a Red Devil. For more than 40 years, she worked alongside her husband, Larry, at their family business, Spade Heating and Plumbing.

A longtime member of Maple Grove United Methodist Church, Toni’s faith and family were central to her life. She loved being outdoors, whether tending to her yard, enjoying the sunshine, or simply taking in the beauty of nature around her.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Larry Spade of Corunna; daughter, Shawn E. Spade of Corunna; son and daughter-in-law, David and Lisa Spade of Corunna; grandchildren, Grant M. (Chantal) Crabtree of Corunna, Morgan (Tyler) Barry of Corunna, and Kaylee (Zack Houser) Spade of Kendallville; great-grandchildren, Brooks, Grady, and Conner Crabtree of Corunna; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Janet West of Auburn; niece, Lynn West of Auburn; and nephew, Brian West of Auburn.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Doug Spade, in 1964.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 4–7 p.m. at Pinnington Funeral & Cremation Services, 502 N. Main Street, Auburn. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025, at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior from 10–11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery, Auburn.
