Ronald E. Zimmerman

Ronald E. Zimmerman, 89, of Auburn, passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2023. Ron was born September 30, 1934 in Rochester, Indiana. Ron was a veteran of the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was a psychometrist at DeKalb Central United School District for 30 years and was also a Driver’s Education Instructor. Ron had also worked at the Teachers Credit Union. He was a member of the Auburn Presbyterian Church. He is survived by a son, Gregory Fritz Zimmerman of Fort Wayne; daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Don Vonckx, of Indian Rock Beach, Florida; grandchildren, Aaron (Kristen) Woebbeking, Amanda (Greg) Lesser and Alyssa (Ryan) Bates; and six great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Loretta A. Zimmerman; father, Warren H. Zimmerman; mother, Margaret Zimmerman; brother, Richard Zimmerman. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at the Auburn Presbyterian Church 111 W. 12th Street Auburn. Rev. David Lawrence will be officiating. Burial will be held in Marion National Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.
