Rebecca Dirig Obituary

 

 

Rebecca A. Dirig, 81, of Auburn, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 17, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 24, 1942, in Bluffton, Indiana, Rebecca was a proud graduate of Bluffton High School. She dedicated many years of service to Starcraft Boats in Topeka, Indiana, before retiring in 2000.

Rebecca was a devoted member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, a former member of the Winnebago Motor Home Club and an active member of the Fort Wayne Corvette Club. She also found joy in quilting and cherished the time spent with her family, who meant the world to her.

Rebecca is survived by her beloved husband, Richard Dirig of Auburn; her children, Douglas (Tina) Dirig of Wabash, Indiana, Richelle (Dave) Wieland of Georgia, Dr. Christopher (Amy) Dirig of North Carolina, and Jennifer Dirig of Florida; her brother, Richard Bracht of Wilmington, Ohio; as well as five grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Irving and Inez Bracht; brother, Roger Bracht; and a sister, Barbara Ginter.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. with visitation two hours prior, from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 500 E. Seventh Street, Auburn. In honor of Rebecca’s memory, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana.
