Randy Kirk Thomas, 72, of Auburn, Indiana, passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at Parkview Randallia in Fort Wayne.
Randy was born on March 16, 1952 at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Garrett, Indiana and was a 1970 graduate of Garrett High School
Randy worked in maintenance at Ultrex/Symmetry Medical in Avilla and at CK Products in Ft. Wayne. Earlier in life, Randy worked as a lineman for the City of Garrett and the Auburn Foundry and was a Reserve Police Officer for the Garrett Police Department during the 1980s.
He enjoyed camping, woodworking, roadtrips, geocaching and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Christine Thomas, of Auburn; son and his wife, Barron and Becky Thomas of Garrett; Son Lucas Thomas of Fort Branch; Daughter Amanda Thomas of Auburn; Daughter and Husband Rebecca and Robert Schmelz of Clayton, NC ; Grandchildren, Olivia Thomas, Isla and Vaeh Thomas; Tyson Schmelz, and Katie Warrner. Brother, Joe Thomas and Sister, Jill Thomas. Randy also has a great grandchild on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Reynold and Katherine Thomas as well as his sister, Judy Thomas.
Randy chose no services and wished to be cremated.
A gathering for family and friends will be announced at a later time.
