Otis Harper "OD" Bostic, 79, of Auburn, Indiana, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2024, at home surrounded by his family. Otis was born on May 9, 1945, in Marlington, West Virginia. Otis grew up in a close-knit family and carried those values throughout his life.
Otis, affectionately known as "OD," was a character in every sense of the word. He served his country in the US army from 1967-1969. Known for his tough exterior, those close to him knew he had a big heart and his readiness to always share a laugh. He had a unique sense of humor, often crafting jokes that perhaps only he could fully appreciate, yet his infectious laughter drew everyone in.
A lover of all things Western, Otis's passion for cowboy culture was evident in his choice of movies and music. He relished the stories of old Western heroes and was rarely seen without a country tune humming in the background. Singing and joke-telling were among his favorite pastimes, often featured as the highlight at family gatherings.
Otis leaves behind a loving family, his wife, Georgiana Sue (Pearson) Bostic of Auburn; his sons, Matthew (Amanda) Bostic of Fort Wayne, Douglas Bostic of Huntington, David (Tana) Bostic of Bluffton. his daughters, Michelle Miller of Huntington and Deborah Nelson of Huntington; and Satin Lipovsky of Auburn; and his brother Denver Wilfong of Huntington.
He was a proud grandfather to; Matthew, Daniel, Dalton, Denise, Kayla, Brandon, Alan, Danica, Zoey, Jessica and Joe
He was preceded in death by his parents, Beecher and Lenvy (Bostic) Wilfong, and his brother Thomas "Butch" Wilfong.
Otis's legacy is marked by his vibrant personality, his unwavering love for his family, and his ability to bring joy through his music and jokes. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A memorial service with military honors will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2024
