Nancy C. Swedberg, age 72, of Auburn, Indiana, passed away June 20, 2025.
Born in Mankato, Minnesota, Nancy was the daughter of Kenneth and Katherine Johnson, both of whom passed before her. She was a proud and fiercely loving mom to her three children: Ben Waldschmidt (and his wife Tricia), Morey Waldschmidt (and his wife Ginger), and Brooklyn Burns (and her husband Brian). She was also the proud grandma of Rylee, Brody, Addison, Avery, Camden, and Kylo — her favorite people on Earth.
Nancy was a retired nurse, and while she was compassionate and caring in her career, her identity went far beyond her profession. She was goofy, honest, loyal, and had a fiery spirit that never faded. She loved her dog Floyd (who passed before her), a strong cup of coffee, a cold can of Sprite, gardening, hunting for antiques, and trying her luck at the casino. What Nancy loved most, though, was her family. Her happiest moments were when all of her kids and grandkids were in one place, laughing and causing chaos together.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no formal services. She always said she’d rather us be together laughing than sitting in pews. If you’d like to send condolences, you can mail cards to the family in care of:
