Myrle L. Hammer Sr., 79, of Saint Helen, Michigan, passed away Thursday January 14, 2021 at Parkview DeKalb hospital. Myrle was born April 17, 1941 in Kalkaska, Michigan, a son of the late Lloyd Albert and Mildred Violet Hammar. Myrle was a United States Army Veteran and a member of the American Legion in Saint Helen, Michigan, and Zephyrhills, Florida, along with being a member of the Eagles. He is survived by sons, Rodney and Leo Hammer both of Saint Helen, Michigan; daughters, Charlene Bergdoll of Garrett, Indiana and Kimberly Ward of Sulphur, Oklahoma; sister, Leona Stein of Bear Lake, Michigan; a sister-in-law, Joann Hammar of Mesa, Arizona and many grandchildren, great- grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise Hammer; son, Myrle Hammer, Jr; and a daughter, Carol Coffee. No public services will be held. Private burial will be held in Saint Helen Cemetery, Saint Helen, Michigan.
