Janet Lee Hoffman, 75, of Auburn, previously of Bound Brook, NJ, went home to God on Friday, February 5, 2021. Born to Edgar and Josephine (Picchiello) Hoffman on April 30, 1945, she lived the majority of her life alongside her surviving sister, Patricia Ann (Hoffman) Leonard. Although no monuments will be built to honor her achievements, to her family they were many. Through her quiet and simple ways, she taught love, compassion, and patience to all those who knew her, most especially her nieces and nephews. Over many years of babysitting them, she never tired of playing games, watching their favorite shows, eating piles of peanut butter cups, and not telling their parents when they were absolute stinkers. Janet loved hugs and kisses, going fishing with her nephew, a good cup of coffee, watching Dancing with the Stars, and just spending time with her beloved sister and family.
In addition to her sister, she is survived by her nieces and nephews: Denise (Carroll) Neff, John Carroll, Jr., Michael Carroll, Jeanine (Carroll) Villano, Susan (Carroll) Page, Joy (Leonard) Connell, eleven great nieces and nephews, and four great-great nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, and her brother-in-law, Leo Thomas Leonard, Jr.
A memorial service will be held in the upcoming months to honor her life and her legacy of love.
