James "Jim" Wolf Obituary

James John Wolf (Jim), 86 of Big Turkey Lake, passed away quietly in his home Wednesday,  December 7, 2022 surrounded by family and friends. He was born on 24 August 1936 in Chicago, IL, and was one of nine children. Through his many adventures, he spent decades in precision electronics and diecasting, serving as a diecasting engineer, Angola Diecasting plant manager, QA Specialist, teacher, mentor, husband, and father. In addition to all of his great achievements, Jim Wolf was an unsung hero who bravely served his country for 14 years in the United States Air Force in multiple capacities, all across the globe, up to and through the Vietnam conflict. "Major" as he was known, was a renowned jungle tactition credited for saving numerous lives in various combat and rescue situations. Though a hulk of a man, he was a gentle giant and the hitch pin of every community he resided within, in and out of uniform, stateside and abroad. There was no one he would not help, literally giving the clothes off his back (albiet, oversized) to strangers and the likes! The tally of his deeds will never fully be measured, but the impact will never be equaled or forgotten! God speed and fly high Big Papa for your mission here is complete, the job is done, its time to rest. He is survived by his wife Janice E. Wolf, daughter and son-in-law, Carrie A.& Jason Velez; granddaughter Sophia Velez. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Promedica Hospice Memorialfund.
