James R Shaffer, 33, of Spencerville, passed away on Friday January 5, 2024 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. James was born on March 24, 1990 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
James, a remarkable individual, left an indelible mark on the lives of those who were fortunate to know him. He embodied the qualities of kindness, generosity, and an unwavering willingness to lend a helping hand.
As a skilled mechanic, James had a true passion for his craft. His love for working on cars went beyond the mechanical; it was an expression of his creativity and an outlet for his love of speed.
Beyond his mechanical prowess, James cherished drawing & moments spent in nature, finding tranquility in fishing with his children & father. He was known for his warm heart and selflessness. Always ready to assist others, he approached life with a spirit of camaraderie and empathy that left a lasting impact on those around him. Whether it was fixing a friend's car or offering a helping hand in times of need, James was a pillar of support and reliability.
His legacy extends beyond the roar of engines and the tools in his hands. James will be remembered for his genuine smile, his ability to make everyone feel valued, and the joy he brought to others through his shared passions and kindness.
He is survived by two sons, Ace and Cruz Shaffer; mother, Shelley Hood; father, Jeffrey Shaffer; brother, Josh Shaffer; grandmothers, Marney Shaffer and Ella Hood. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert Shaffer. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday January 20, 2024 at the Church at Garrett 1370 S. Randolph Street, Garrett.
