Eileen M. Conrad, 89, of Auburn, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at her daughter’s home. Eileen was born July 8, 1934 in Liverpool, England, a daughter of the late Abram J. and Johanna (Mullally) Pinnington. Eileen was a licensed cosmetologist inspector for the State of Indiana for 28 years and owned her own cosmetology salon. She was also very active in the Republican Party and had held the position as a Republican Precinct Committee Woman. She was also a member of the advisory board for the Four County Vocation Area Vocational School, the DeKalb Women’s Republican Club, the F.O.P and American Legion. Eileen was a member of Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Waterloo. She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jimmie and Sherry Steffen of Waterloo, and Larry Steffen of Hamilton Lake; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Lance Tillman of Auburn; grandchildren, Chanel Steffen, Reed Steffen, Ian Higgins, Heather Steffen, Nicholas (April) Steffen, Shaun (Tara) Egly, Ashtin (Morgan) Egly, Spencer Tillman and Jessica (Zack) Lee; great grandchildren, Sara (Cody) Moreland, Jace Michaelis, Shiloh Higgins, Daymian Hartman, Caitlin Steffen, Kate Dorman, Tucker Egly and Liam Egly; great-great grandchildren, Braydon Moreland, Zaydon Moreland, Haydon Moreland, Grayson Moreland and Spencer Hartman; brother and sister-in-law, John and Mary Ann Pinnington of Cape Coral, Florida; sisters, Rose Pinnington of Fort Wayne, and Anne Pinnington of Lake Wales, Florida; sisters-in-law, Peggy Pinnington of Waterloo, Doreen Pinnington of Auburn, and Cheri Luke of Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Conrad; granddaughter, Victoria Steffen; brothers, Norman Pinnington, Kenneth Pinnington, and Terry Pinnington; sister, Maureen (Bill) Ball; daughter-in-law, Shannon Steffen. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2024 from 1-5 pm at Pinnington Funeral & Cremation Services 502 N. Main Street, Auburn. Funeral service will be held at 11 am with visitation one hour prior on Monday, January 15, 2024 also at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to DeKalb Humane Society or Saint Michael Catholic Church. Burial will be held in Waterloo Cemetery.
