Edith "Edie" Joy Bearman

Edith “Edie” Joy Bearman, 89, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at her home. Edie was born on November 28, 1934, in Ossian, the daughter of the late Clarence and Effie Frye.

Edie was retired and had worked in the radiology department at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, where she was known for her dedication and compassion. She was a devoted member of Saint Michael Lutheran Church, where she actively participated in the Joy Group and the Book Club, making many lifelong friends.

She is survived by her children, Lisa (Scott) Judy of Bloomfield, Ind.; Tim (Regina) Bearman of Fort Wayne and Amy (Matthew) Stewart of Grabill; and her cherished grandchildren, Morgan, Ethan, Jazlyn, Emma, Bo and AJ.  Edie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard “Dick” Bearman, and her sisters, Rosalyn Smith and Gwen Shields.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior on Monday, July 29, 2024 at St. Michael Lutheran Church, 2131 Getz Road Fort Wayne, IN. Visitation will take place on Sunday, July 28, 2024 from 2-5 p.m. also at St. Michael Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Saint Michael Lutheran Church.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Stillwater Hospice for their care and support during this time.

Burial will be held in Concordia Cemetery Gardens in Fort Wayne.
