Donna G. Mettert, of Auburn, passed to the other side, having been called home by her Lord, Savior and Best Friend, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne surrounded by her family. Donna was born on November 16, 1946 in Borger, Texas and was a 1964 graduate of Auburn High School.
The legal field is where Donna spent 35 years, starting in Auburn with Grimm & Grimm. She was also a legal assistant in Fort Wayne and a court reporter for both Allen Superior Court and Steuben Superior Court.
She is survived by a son Donald Mettert of Auburn, and his children, Brittany (Josh) Mettert-Raines, Dane (Michelle) Mettert and Landon Mettert; daughter, Melissa (Chris) Mettert-Jagnow of Fort Wayne and her children, Camden Straub, Kennedy Jagnow, Addison Jagnow and Delaney Jagnow; daughter, Andrea (Barry) Mettert-Menges of Auburn, and her daughter, Kyndra Shipley; sister, Toni Folk Adams of North Carolina; nephews, Eddie (Sarah) Placencia, Ray Placencia, and his daughter, Valencia; a niece Jaime (Alan) Placencia-Okewole and her children, Terrance, Mya and Jaelyn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Guy and Virginia Mae Hasey Folk; brother, Kenneth Michael Folk; grandparents, Gilbert Guy, Harriett Jenner Folk, and Charles and Della Lawrence Hasey.
A memorial service will be held in Thursday, January 11, 2024 at 2:00 pm with visitation two hours prior from noon to 2:00 pm at Pinnington Funeral & Cremation Services 502 N. Main Street, Auburn. Burial will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Auburn.
