Denise L. Hathaway

Denise Louise Hathaway, 65, of Garrett, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2025, at Parkview Regional Hospital in Fort Wayne.

She was born on May 16, 1960, in Fort Wayne. Denise worked at C & A Tool in Churubusco for 23 years, from 2002 until 2025, where she was known for her strong work ethic and dedication.

Denise enjoyed life’s simple pleasures of reading, working in her yard, and spending time with her sisters’ horses. She especially treasured sharing a cup of coffee and deep conversations with friends and family. Above all, she loved her family and cherished every moment spent with them.

She is survived by her mother, Mary Alice Ellert of Garrett; her children, Nathan (Britney Fuentes) Sorg of Garrett, Joshua (Ashley) Sorg of Butler, and Amber (Michael) Souder of Garrett; her beloved grandchildren, Savannah Sorg, Brayden Sorg, Elijah Sorg, Chloe Sorg, Connor Souder, and Nolan Souder; and her siblings, Robert (Ginger) Fleckenstein of Syracuse, Donald (Cheryl) Fleckenstein of Garrett, Thomas (Fabi) Fleckenstein of Texas, Janet (Marvin) Bok of Auburn, and Alyson Fleckenstein of Garrett.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Diane Fleckenstein of Garrett.

Private family services will be held.
