Delores J. Houtz

Delores J. Houtz, 85, of Angola, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at Astral of Auburn. Delores was born July 30, 1938 in Fort Wayne. She had worked at Allen County Towing as a bookkeeper and dispatcher. Delores was a member of the Presbyterian Chapel of the Lakes in Angola. She was a member of the Eastern Star and also was a volunteer with the Girl Scouts. She is survived by a son, Michael (Doris Willis) Houtz of Lake James; daughter, Brenda (Colleen Cole) Houtz of Clarkston, Michigan; sisters, Janice (Don) Ecenbarger of Angola and Marilyn (Rick) Cruze of Fort Wayne; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence K. “Red” Houtz; parents, Albert, and Sophia Kensill; and a brother, Richard Kensill. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. with visitation one hour prior on Thursday, May 23, 2024 in the Dining Hall Building at the Anthony Wayne Scout Reservation 2282 W. 500 S. Pleasant Lake, IN. Memorial donations may be made to Scouts of America.
