David "Tony" Beard

David A. “Tony” Beard, 76, of Spencerville, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at his home.

Tony was born on January 22, 1948, in Butler, Indiana, to the late Clarence and Elva Beard. He worked at B.F. Goodrich for 30 years before retiring and later dedicated 17 years of service to Eastside High School.

An avid outdoorsman, Tony enjoyed spending time fishing and hunting. He also had a passion for music and liked to play the guitar.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sue A. Beard of Spencerville; his son and daughter-in-law, Bradley and Stacey Beard of Spencerville; his daughter and son-in-law, Kimberli and Nathan Ordway of Defiance, Ohio; his sisters, Beverly Davis and Inez Prosser; and his brother, Lloyd “Pugs” Beard; grandchildren, Blake (Sabrina) Sholl, Tyler (Erin) Beard), Maci Sholl, Lindsey Beard, Mallori (Jared) Lyons, Natalie Ordway and Raylin Ordway; great granddaughters, Dani Sue Lyons.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Elva Beard; his brother, Loren Beard; and his sister, Phyllis Reas.
