Daniel "Charlie" Bellinger

Daniel Charles “Charlie” Bellinger, 70, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family. Charlie was born October 8, 1953 in Flint, Michigan.

He loved his family and was the most faithful, dedicated man. He loved the church; which he served for 40 years. He loved his granddaughters and they loved their Papa. He loved sports and always rooted for the underdog.

He was ordained in the North Michigan District of the Wesleyan Church (now part of the Great Lakes Region) in July 1984.

He served as pastor in these churches from 1982–2018:

Ogilvie Wesleyan Church, Evart, MI

Lakefield Wesleyan Church, Merrill, MI

Brady Center Wesleyan Church, Oakley, MI

Bible Wesleyan Church, Sheridan, MI

Palo Baptist Church, Palo, MI

Trinity Wesleyan Church, Remus, MI

Crystal Lake Community Church, Crystal Lake, MI

Through the years he served the church in various capacities in the North Michigan District:  District Youth President, Camp Treasurer and Camp Director, District Board of Administration, the District Auditor, and led the District Board of Ministerial Development, helping many new pastors through the ordination process. He was part of the leadership team for several general and regional youth conferences. He also taught at Fellowship Baptist Academy as well as working as a substitute teacher in the public schools both in Michigan and Indiana.  

Charlie is survived by his wife, Connie Bellinger of Fort Wayne, Indiana; sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel & Stephanie Bellinger of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Brent & Erin Bellinger of Marion, Indiana; grandchildren, Mallory, Emma and Aubree; sisters, Julie Chambers of Flint, Michigan and Cathy (Charlie) Gravitt of Lakeview, Michigan; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel, and Cleo Bellinger; brother, Jimmy Bellinger; sister and brother-in-law, Jane & Sam Morgan. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. with visitation two hours prior from 12-2 p.m.   on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Three Rivers Wesleyan Church 2825 Hillegas Road Fort Wayne, IN 46808. Memorial donations may be made to Wesleyan Missions.
