Crystal L. Tackels, 40, of Garrett, died Tuesday October 19, 2021 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Crystal was born December 24, 1980 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. Crystal had worked at CLC Inc. in Kendallville and before that she had worked at Oak meadows.  She is survived by two daughters, Destiny Tackels-Brown of Auburn and Nevaeh Tackels of Garrett; son, Jeffrey Brown Jr. of Garrett. mother, Jane Payton of Garrett; father, Dan Tackels of Garrett; sisters, Jessica Foulk of Missouri, Bonnie Quinn of Kendallville and Melissa Hinkle of Hicksville, Ohio; grandchild, Kyler Hess; nieces and nephews, Kara Quinn of Kendallville, Tabitha Muniz Quinn of Avilla, Karisa Foulk of Fort Wayne, Alexis Foulk of Missouri, Madison McClure of Garrett, Landon Hinkle of Ohio and Payton Hinkle of Ohio. She was preceded in death by her step father, George Payton. A funeral service for Crystal will be held at 1 p.m. with visitation two hours prior from 11-1 p.m. on Monday October 25, 2021 at Pinnington Funeral & Cremation Services 502 N. Main Street, Auburn. Buddy Bradley and Kim Payton will be officiating. Burial will be held in Cedar Creek Cemetery, rural Auburn. Memorial donations may be made to the funeral home to help the family with expenses.
