Carol J. Morris

Carol J. Morris, 83, of Avilla, died Thursday, May 4, 2023 at Ascension Living Sacred Heart Village in Avilla. Carol was born June 28, 1939 in Elkhart, Indiana. Carol was a faithful and loving pastor's wife who was devoted to her strong faith and love for her family and cherished being a wife, mother, grandmother, and foster mother.  She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Fort Wayne. She is survived by her husband, H. Dean Morris of Auburn; sons, Robert M. Morris of Elkhart, Richard A. Morris of Orlando, Florida, Jeffrey S. (Heidi) Morris of San Antonio, Texas, and Doug (Brenda) Morris of Garrett; daughters, Dena S. (Peter Rogoff) Morris of Seattle, Washington, and Christina C. Morris of Auburn; several foster children; 12 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; brother, James (Carol A.) Stull of Phoenix, Arizona; former daughter-in-law, Alice Morris of Elkhart. She was preceded in death by her parents, George, and Lucile Stull; and three siblings. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. with visitation one hour prior on Monday May 8, 2023 at Pinnington Funeral & Cremation Services 502 N. Main Street, Auburn. Thomas Novy will be officiating.  Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 7, 2023 from 1-4 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Christian Union Cemetery, Garrett. Memorial donations may be made to DeKalb County Council on Pregnancy.
