Betty R. Dilgard-Willett, 99, of Auburn, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Marliere Hospice House in New Port Richey, Florida. Betty was born on April 16, 1925, in DeKalb County, Indiana, to the late H. Earl and Delia (Miller) Husselman.

Betty led a life of dedication and service. She began her career as a telephone operator and later worked at Auburn Rubber Company, Garns Candy Factory, and mutual jobbing for several area dime stores. She lived in her beloved home in Auburn for 77 years.

Betty was passionate about preserving local history and was an active volunteer at the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum, a member of Questers of DeKalb County, the DeKalb Historical Society, and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Her contributions to her community will be fondly remembered.

She married Robert Dilgard on January 31, 1947, and they shared many years together until his passing on September 5, 1986. Later, she married Earl Willett on November 30, 2006, who survives her in New Port Richey, Florida. Betty is also survived by her stepchildren, Cheryl Vaughn, Gary Willett, Gene Willett, Bobby Willett, and Linda Willett; along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Lloyd Husselman, and sister, Bonnie Christlieb.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, November 8, 2024, at Woodlawn Cemetery in Auburn, with Brother Bud Owen officiating. Memorial donations may be made to First Church of Christ in Garrett. Arrangements are by Pinnington Funeral & Cremation Services, 502 N. Main Street, Auburn.
