Joe "JD" Donaldson

Joe E. “JD” Donaldson, 90, of Auburn, died Wednesday September 12, 2018 at his home. JD was born May 19, 1928 in Auburn, a son of the late Newell and Georgia Donaldson.  He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served during the Korean War. JD was a member of Auburn First United Methodist Church, former member of Elks lodge 1978 in Auburn and a member of the YMCA State Championship basketball team of 1947. He was the owner of JD’s Decorating and had painted many homes in the Auburn area for 52 years. Survivors include his wife Jo Ann Donaldson of Auburn; sons and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Lori Donaldson of Auburn and Ned and Jodi Donaldson of Auburn; step son and companion, Michael (Carolyn) Roop of Hamilton; brother and sister-in-law, James and Carolyn Donaldson of Florida; grandchildren and their spouses, Alex and Ashley Donaldson, Abby and Jason Cable, Jama and Craig Casselman and Jenna Donaldson;; two step grandchildren, Colton Miller and Ashton Miller; seven great grandchildren.  At the request of JD, no services will be held. Burial will be held in Woodlawn Cemetery, Auburn at a later date. JD loved the Eckhart Public Library fountain and being a painter, he always volunteered to paint the fountain over his painting years.  JD would like memorial donations to be made to Eckhart Public Library 603 S. Jackson Street Auburn, IN 46706  to support the upkeep of the fountain
