Fred L. Scattergood

 Fred L. Scattergood, 58, of Auburn, died Monday August 21, 2017 at his home in Auburn.

Fred was born July 20, 1959, in Auburn. Fred was a graduating member of DeKalb High School class of 1977. Fred had worked at FXI in Auburn for 30 years and was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of North American Hunting Club, FFA and an active 4-H father. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting.

He is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jason and Heather Scattergood of Kendallville and Karl Scattergood of Auburn; grandsons Noah Renfrow and Dawson Howey; sisters Cindy Scattergood of Auburn and Leabeth and Barry Smith of Auburn; nieces Amy (Chris) Dooley of Temple, Texas, and Sara (Willie) Karashin of Fort Worth, Texas; and great-nephews Kyle and Kaleb Dooley and Liam and Elijah Karashin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and JoAnne Scattergood.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday with visitation one hour prior at Pinnington Funeral & Cremation Services, 502 N. Main Street, Auburn. Visitation will also be held on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Sedan Cemetery, Corunna.
