Barbara A. Spiece

Barbara A. Spiece, 91, of Garrett, died Saturday October 21, 2017 at Millers Merry Manor in Garrett. She was born April 12, 1926 in Carlos, IN. Mrs. Spiece was a retired school teacher and taught for many years in the Indianapolis area. She is survived by a step-son and daughter-in-law, Lynn and Sheila Spiece of Garrett; step-daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth A. and Rod Kaufman of Tulsa, OK;  sister, Marta Ladd of Savoy, IL; numerous grandchildren,  great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl L. Spiece; sons, Kenneth Van Ausval and Bobby Van Ausval; father, Kenneth F. Cates; mother, Lettita A. Cates; and a brother, Frank Cates. No funeral service will be held. A family gathering will be held at a later date.
