Thomas E. Souder, 75, of Auburn, died Saturday October 1, 2016 at home surrounded by his family. Tom was born June 7, 1941 in Garrett, the son of the late Gerry and Esther Souder. Tom married Dianne Garavaglia on September 3, 1966 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Auburn. Tom had worked at DeKalb Molded Plastics in Butler for 25 years retiring in 2004 and then went to work at The Sprinkling Can in Auburn for 11 years. He was a member and Past President of the Auburn Lions Club and was a recipient of the W.P. Woods Fellowship. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Dianne Souder of Auburn; daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Jeff Horstman of Fort Wayne; son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Libby Souder of Fort Wayne; brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Shirley Souder of Auburn and Robert and Loretta Souder of Elkhart; sister and brother-in-law, Rita and Al LePage of Plymouth, MI; eight grandchildren, Nicholas Horstman, Lauren Ashley Horstman, Alexander Horstman, Elizabeth Marie Souder, Alec Cannon, Claire Cannon, Francesca Souder and Giuliana Souder. Visitation will be held Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Pinnington Funeral & Cremation Services 502 N. Main Street, Auburn. Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday at Noon with visitation one hour prior at Saint Michael’s Catholic Church 1098 County Road 39, Waterloo. Rev. David Carkenord will be officiating. The Auburn Lions Club will be holding a Lions Remembrance Service Thursday 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made in Tom’s honor to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation, Saint Michael’s Catholic Church for the restoration of the stained glass windows or Auburn Lions Club. Burial will be held in Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery, Auburn.
